I'm pretty convinced that they will. Some team is gonna move up for Mariota.
Who would you lean to? Browns? Jets? If the Eagles make the jump from 20 all the way down to 2 then i think they will have to unload Bradford and move up from 20 first. then jump to 2.
I dont see how the Titans could move from 2 to 20.
look, you know i'm a homer, but let me state my case. it'll end up being a long post lol
idk how people can look at how the jets roster is constructed and think they'll win only 5 games with either geno or fitz at the helm. this team isn't devoid of talent. ferguson is still a fine LT, mangold is the best center in the NFL (PFF had him #1 in pass pro and run blocking), and breno is fine at RT. ivory i think lead the league in average yards after contact and is an above average back. if he didn't split carries with CJ0K he would of been in the pro bowl, i don't doubt that. i think amaro has the potential to be great and the addition of brandon marshall cannot be understated. the jets were close to dead last in red zone efficiency. b-marsh definitely helps with that and takes pressure off decker, which will allow him to be effective. also i understand Geno isn't good, but he played well the last 4 games of the season. he had a QBR of like 82 and although the perfect game is an anomoly, it still happened and is something to build off of
now the reason i don't see how people can say the jets win 5 games is because of the defense. maybe i'm crazy, but i wouldn't be surprised if the jets had the #1 overall defense in the NBA. that defensive line up front is no joke. sheldon richardson SHOULD of been an all-pro last year (2nd ranked DE by PFF) and is only getting better. we already know big mo wilk is great and damon harrison is an elite run stuffing NT. we all know revis is the best technician and CB in the game and although cro is overpaid, he definitely helps. i like what skrine can do in the slot as he excelled in man coverage in cleveland and if dee milliner develops, that is a group of CBs. pryor can only improve in his sophomore season and i think marcus gilchrist is a great chess piece that bowles can move around
i also don't think people are understanding the gravity of the bowles hiring. i really love rex and i'm a huge supporter of his, but he wasn't a particularly great head coach. his teams lacked discpline, he had awful game management, and showed loyalty to his older players to a fault. he also didn't make great ingame adjustments and we got TORCHED on blitzs on 3rd last year because everyone knew it was coming. now i don't know what type of coach bowles will be, but he did a great job with that AZ defense with basically all their top guys lost to injury. he seems like a true leader of men and everything that has been said about him has been stellar
just remember, the last time the jets were in this situation (shitty QB, elite defense, new coach, good running game, decent WRs), they went to back 2 back AFC championship games
this is fair. normally i'm 100% with you in the "winners in march doesn't equate to winners in the season", but for the most part this seems different for the jets. most teams that win free agency overpay for overrated players that don't always fit the system. jets got impact players that play right into their system. revis and cromartie fit perfectly in bowle's man heavy scheme that blitzs all the time and we all know they are actually great. buster skrine excelled in man coverage last year, but he hasn't been consistent enough for us to think thats a large "impact signing"
i just hope the jets draft cooper, idk how geno fails with those weapons. im def a homer, but it feels great to have some expectations again
he fails because he isnt good. i dont care how good your receiver core is, they will never be great receivers with a mediocre qb
football is a team game, but so much of your offense works through one player, its hard for a talented team to be good with an untalented quarterback
the defense can be theoretically as good as you think it can, but it wont matter when they cant put up points on the other side of the field
can't wait until April 30th
i've never been more confused on who i want the jets to draft. last year i wanted Odell clearly, a year before that I wanted KiKi Mingo or chance warmack, but this year i have no clue
i think the player i probably want the most is Cooper because i think if hes on the board at #6 he'd be the BPA on the jets board. if they draft mariota idk how i'd react, i'd probably be super excited in the moment but right now im not sold. if kevin white is at #6 (which is possible), do the jets consider that? idk how i'd feel if they drafted him, he's great but we wouldn't get the best valuable out of him initially. i also hope the jets strongly consider gregory at #6 because i think he's the best pass rusher prospect in the draft, but if they drafted vic beasley or shane ray idk how excited i'd be
like damn there is no clear cut player i want them to draft
He killed 1 person right? How can you get life without parole? People kill way more than that and get off super easy
"Hernandez was found guilty of murder in the first degree, a charge that in Massachusetts automatically carries a sentence of life in prison without a possibility of parole, as well as five firearm charges."
Hardy is still suspended 10 games? Does this not make sense in comparison to other recent off field incidents or is it just me? I haven't kept up on that whole controversy, but I thought there wasn't any evidence to the claims that lady was making.
"The NFL's investigation concluded that Hardy violated the Personal Conduct Policy by using physical force against Nicole Holder in at least four instances,"
