General Work in Progress Chat
How can someone possibly pass up Premiere/After Effects integration for editing montages....yall are crazy
I can work significantly faster in Vegas due to how it's setup compared to Premiere. Also call me crazy, but for me Premiere Pro CS6 is remarkably inflexible, or rather remarkably linear in workflow. It has a lot of nice features with dynamic link and a smooth process from creation to export but I don't like how so much of the controls and options are set in stone the moment you start your project.
This came up when I was finishing editing a film from another editor and they setup the wrong sequence. And I had to go back and retroactively fix a ton of media elements and sequences manually because none are updated or can't be updated, have to be recreated from scratch.
Also fuck razor tools.
^ that has some good DOF on it. And as someone who is into filmmaking, local would make a great cinematographer.
You know what would be fucking awesome? If you could choose different lenses while in theater. Just a random thought
you have no idea how much I've wished for this...... oh well. manual dof does me fine.
and thanks man ^
edit: and yumbles, this is the original:
depth of field looks best if you also darken, & desaturate the out-of-focus parts. to simulate lighting effects that would be used on a real film set.

halo 1 editors feel my pain
edit: should probably explain
halo ce wont let you move your spartan while moving the camera so you either have a lobby setup with 2 people or use solstice which isnt working for me atm or record an animation that you activate with a script in game while you are on the camera ...i have no control of what the spartan does its a previous recording of my movements but now i can move the camera as i like
used hek
anim recorder off halomaps

Something I made the other night
I worked on a new "endslate" design for my videos. Just a little popup which shows social-info. MIght update the YT one to have subscribe on it, maybe ontop of it. And then make the animation heavier like it is holding something more. Overall it took maybe 9 hours to make, lots of expressions and nulls to get the animation and random motion correct.
That looks very smooth crest, I'm not surprised that took you 9 hours to polish.
It was very frustrating, mainly because I had to make a chain of nulls, after I made the expressions. In the end it makes my design more modular. I went and precomped a lot of it. I can go into a sign-comp and just change it how I see fit and it updates automatically. No need to reanimate.
I sure did learn a lot from it though, and I really love using really sharp animation curves to give it that cartoony personality.
need some help. i was stupid last time and tried to correct it with changing cc and stuff, but maybe there is an easy fix. i have problems importing my recorded mp4 files into sony vegas. when i import the files, they get darker and a higher contrast, it seems, and i have no clue why. with my reach tage i tried to fix it by changing the brightness and messing with the colors, but that didn't look good (still went with it, but whatever). so i was wondering if there is something i can do to prevent the problem rather than trying to fix it.
This is a pic of the original recorder video:
and this is an screenshot from how it is shown in sony vegas after importing it, without having touched any other effects or settings:
any help would be really appreciated
thanks. couldn't find the color space option, but in the properties tab i did find what i needed, partly due to your 8-bit suggestion. as it might be helpful for others, i'll show yall what i did:
i messed with both the 'pixal format' (PF) as the 'view transform' (VT) options in the properties tab.
ORIGINAL
AUTO (for me: PF= 32-bit floating point (full range) and VT= ACES RRT (sRGB)) - darker and more contrast than original
PF= 32-bit floating point (video levels) OR 8-bit (same outcome, no VT-options possible) - slightly brighter than original
PF= 32-bit floating point (full range) and VT= Off - basically the same as orginal
when using PF= 32-bit floating point (full range) with VT turned not off, you get slight variations on the AUTO one above
