This is the Official Electronic / EDM Music Disccusion Thread... feel free to talk about any music made with a computer, shows you're going to, DJs you like, or anything else that pertains to electronic music in general. <3

went hard yesterday, was fun.

last year:

music was fine, not really my cup of tea but decent enough

It's not really new or anything but I've been listening a lot to this track lately, I love it.

Also, this pic from the OP brings back some good memories, is still one of my favorite indoor festivals I've ever visited. Next week Hard Bass in the same stadium, I can't wait :)

So, they're finally having a festival inside the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, called Something Wonderful... I really want to go, but they've only announced one DJ so far, and it's Tiesto being the main headliner. I'm not a fan of new Tiesto, so I'm still on the fence. I really hope the rest of the line up is stacked, but we'll see. They've had festivals like EDC 2010 / 2011 right outside the Cotton Bowl on the fair grounds, and those were always epic events, but that was because of their line-ups.
id suck a mean dick for a new pioneer set.
not really EDM but still excited

 "Yes, ... returns"

i think im going to skip tomorrowworld and hit up a different id&t festival in cali that same weekend.

been waiting for this dubplate since nam.

I'm not bashing it, I used to FUCKING LOVE Funtcase... but... I just... don't anymore. It's not a bad toon, but I just can't get behind this kind of shit like I used to. Dubstep is one of the first genres to get me into electronic music in 2008, but 99% of what is released as "dubstep" anymore I can't get in to.

I'm kind of sad bout it... I dig that Getter track, but it kind of sucks. I don't even enjoy certain older dubstep tracks anymore on my iPod. I just skip over them usually, unless they're a super special "personal" song to me.

Yeah I hear ya. I did stop liking dubstep for a pretty long time actually but didn't get back into it until recently, actually over the summer when Going In For The Kill came on my iPod I thought I took all dubstep off of it, but it got me all nostaligic.

It's the heavy metal of dance music for me lol, I don't really listen to it when I'm out, or with friends. It's on my gaming playlist usually. I also only really listen to like 4 or 5 artists from that genre anymore. I'm more Trap heavy, and what ever genre Kanibalean Records produces.

Edit posted this in what are you listening to now, some trap and Jersey Club

same, i love some older dubstep songs compared to nowadays. excision's new album is okay but not as good as Existence VIP (the ultimate transformers/lasers song) and reploid.  bassnectar isn't really genre-locked but his stuff is good still. LOVED his show at day of the dead, sooo sick.

i believe i posted that proletor song once. that track is dope.
can anyone point me in the right direction for getting started with production? i used to have ableton and FLstudio on my hard drive but reformatted. just pm me if necessary and/or post me up some tips for getting started. i have a m-audio midi controller keyboard if that helps.

If you don't have them anymore, I'd recommend just torrenting them again (I assume that's how you got them in the first place, but kudos if you actually payed for them). I used both, but I much prefer Ableton. It was just a bit more intuitive to me, but it's all preference really since they can both do the same thing but in different ways.

And I purely taught myself through YouTube videos and Googling articles / websites. There's so many tutorials and good information out there, you just gotta hunt them down.

thanks man that sounds like an excellent starting point. i have so many things i need to learn, the program itself, massive plugin (or other), actually knowing all the chords on a keyboard, etc. i'd like to learn to compose from a piano/keyboard.

if any kind gentleman can pm in regards to those progs. i lost hope with iptorrents as well as public tracks for things like this. got so many emails/envenlopes from ISP.

P.S. i've read that iptorrents sells out invites to copyright trolls that are the reason for the isp's sending notices.

just bought my tickets to beyond wonderland, im so fucking stoked

Seeing Spor, who has returned after a long hiatus and having produced a lot of tracks under his alias Feed Me, on the 27th of March along with Noisia, Icicle, Ed Rush, The Upbeats, Phace and Emperor. Jon Gooch was way before his time on the DnB sound-crafting.

^^ Close friend made this, thought there'd be some people here who'd dig it. Really surprised me in terms of production and style.
