Two more things...
To the mods who immediately change sigs, your not helping the forum, you are butchering it. That being said, props to Bacon for actually telling me so I could do something, instead of going mod aboos the second he gets the chance. -------------------- Also, I love the pole choices. Colo clearly loves DBZA. and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKl02m4lkJc#t=332s |

This is what happens when you have a forum experiment that devolves into some kind of Lord of the Flies survival zone. Intoxicated with power, certain members of the staff are trying to turn this place into some kind of utopian forum where every post follows some kind of guidelines for "value", and everything else is worthless. The very thing that this forum has SURVIVED upon has been drama. Take this thread as an example. How many posts and views has this thread alone generated because it constitutes something interesting on a forum otherwise devoid of interesting things to look at because the majority of interesting things are also considered inflammatory.
Whenever a new "regime" takes over, they try to implement changes that they think will help the community and usually have poorly constructed rationale that does not revolve around keeping this place interesting but rather the moving goal posts of "fairness" and trying to control how members should treat one another. The most interesting and activity creating moments in the history of this forum have ALL been instances where drama was the primary source of the conflict, even in the video contests. By trying to remove every ounce of drama from this place, you're draining it of its value. Dumb people with dumb opinions deserve to be called out on that. People who make stupid threads need to be told they make stupid threads. Those that cannot defend themselves or "quit the game", are only doing a service for this forum by leaving and they usually do NOT leave. Instead, they become hit generators. Points of contention. At the end of the day you have to decide what is more healthy for a forum to have.... hits and posts regardless of their tone or sterile, benign, and harmless banter where nobody gets their feelings hurt for saying something stupid either by frustration or departure of all the members that would call them out on it. You take the drama out of ANY forum and you have nothing left. |

Facts:
- As much as you'd hate to admit it, mike does contribute a lot to this forum. - So does Crest. - Several moderators post exactly like the "24/7 COT circle-jerk". - Pistol's opinion has been null and void for a long time. I'd agree that the establishment has seemed to tighten the noose, in terms of deciding what is spam, what is/isn't funny, etc. Sad to say, but none of you should expect to see their stranglehold loosen anytime soon. There's a huge diversity in how the moderators handle these situations. No two are the same. You're all spending time drawing lines in the sand, and picking teams. In reality, this is a matter of those who want to continue to have fun in a light-hearted manner, and the police of this forum tightening their sphincter for the sake of principle. We aren't binded by the rules of the past. This forum has the ability to make it's own rules, and evolve. Shame to see a bunch of guys I really like being tight-asses about the subject. Eh, it's to be expected when Colostomizer starts the thread. Enough from me. I'll let you old-folk sort this out. Quote:
