Your views and beliefs on the speed and awareness of the game being compromised by the the new features like sprinting are shared amongst many. 

I completely feel for what you're saying.

I believe sprint was added without any real purpose for really actually defining the game. It feels as if it was placed in the series just to keep up

with the games around Halo; the desire to have new content/new features.

So, with the lack of concern on managing the new things being added with each expansion to the series, it begins to hurt the game. Not helping benefit the game in an efficient way; not easing each feature into the game in an organized fashion. Where problem solving and understanding your play-style in order to proceed and build off of your mistakes begins to become impossible, making it irrelevant. 

With all that being said, there are just so many things planted within the game with no thought on how it effects it.  They need to see their halo family's knowledge on these facts, and begin to build off of those who have been experiencing the beta each and every year.

I say that because of what we're now thinking and realizing. Since the the movement isn't hand-in-hand with the maps and weapons within the game itself. 

That causes hectic, irrational things to happen to you, without realizing the full magnitude of what it is really making you go bat-crazy. 

And it stalls your process in becoming the very best that you can be; it has no real basis, making it consistently inconsistent.

Wish they would have been more in depth about these changes. Meaning, as a percentage how much quicker will base movement speed be? Or how exactly with the smart scope and headshot damage for automatics be modified? Not that I'm unhappy, many of the improvements are exactly the same as the feedback I gave in both my survey and from our feedback thread.

But seriously, everything written looks awesome. Most of the elements I listed in my feedback are going to be fixed. I can't wait ro try this game a second time. 

Considering there is like 9 months until the game is out, I doubt they would be able to give exact numbers without testing anything or even being in the earlier stages.

Pretty much all good changes. If they add in an esports playlist where we making settings without sprint, I'll be pretty happy.

I really dig the ranking system in this game, and if the playlists are nice, I'll most likely be buying the game.

The one thing that was left out that I feel needs major changes are grenades. The physics behind them were incredibly inconsistent, the damage radius/fall off was too high and map geometry needs to be simplified to make banks, bounces, etc more predictable. Wasn't bothered by them being shot out of the air, whatever though.

Yeah, I think at this point it's just a transition they've decided to make, and I would agree with you it is not for the better. With that said, the proposed changes are all very positive imo. Really happy to hear about the ability to chose data center because it's the first server/networking based option we've ever gotten, and could open the door to more options like that to help us improve our online experience.

Yeah the more I think about it, it will probably just end up like reach playing on the same forge maps over and over. However I didn't even make it to that stage in reach.

If 11% responded "Halo should not have sprint." I wonder what the percentage would have been adding the last option. Seems like a bit of a manipulation of the statistics.

Never thought we could get sprint removed, But i thought we had a chance at getting ADS removed. :(
Positive changes overall and quite surprising tbh.  Still not enough to get me interested in the game though.
No mention of the ridiculous bullet magnetism either. Hopefully that falls under "General tuning and bug fixing for all weapons".
We need the medals to look more like the ones from H2, H3 and Reach. Also, removing midair grenade explosions from bullet damage is going to set Hyena back a step.
Personally I think it's good to have the sprint on/off toggle in custom games. However, I am worried that sprint isn't properly implemented and balanced that the competitive settings created by either pros or the HCS series will be forced to have no sprint, which then creates a difference between the MM experience to anyone who picks up the game and the competitive experience that attracts viewers and new players to the game. Ideally I'd like sprint in but nerfed, which is (thankfully) what I think the post-H5 beta notes say they're doing with increased movement speed and decreased sprint speed.

How about fixing this for H2A and H2C ...tired of playing H2C hardcore and matching up with idiots. I have to drive to play.

I read the notes earlier and I liked what I saw. However, I will not be purchasing Halo 5 if Halo: MCC doesn't get fixed. I refuse to support a company that lies to its customers and then has the audacity to avoid them by claiming "death threats" are the reason they are unwilling to provide them with timely information in regards to fixing their unfinished game.

While that's pathetic that people are making threats, that doesn't excuse a complete lack of communication. They have a general twitter and their own website if they're afraid of individual employees being targeted. I also don't believe going dark is going to stop any of the outrage from the community.

this was one of my biggest concerns. With these changes though, im strongly considering getting an xbox now.

I really dont like how the medals are in the center of the screen. Stop clogging up the interface, especially the damn center

Honestly, at this point, I'd even be content with a daily tweet or blog post letting us know how the update(s) are coming along. Also, if something is hard to fix, tell us why it's hard to fix. If they can't explain why something is hard to fix, they are clearly in the wrong profession. As Einstein said, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough."

Yeah, death threats are uncalled for under any circumstances, but anger is definitely permissible given the situation. It's been almost 3 months after MCC's release and the game still lacks basic functionality and is practically, to some, unplayable.

Anyway, as I said, I won't be purchasing Halo 5 unless MCC is fixed and I encourage you all to do the same. Don't support a company that lies through their teeth and then avoids answering the community that it essentially eats from. Without the consumer, these companies wouldn't exist.

Well, I'm pretty glad they are listening to community feedback! Hopefully they will give more updates on other changes they are going to make. I just really hope we do see results, as we've been let down before.

 

edit (just saw this): YOU CAN TURN OFF ALL SPARTAN ABILITIES IN CUSTOM GAMES, INCLUDING SPRINT! This could be really cool guys.

Every single map on the beta was awful.

I forgot what video I was watching when they said something along the lines of:

"It seems like 343 has the map design process backwards. Its like they start with visual designs, concept art, and go from there, 

rather than starting with geometric shapes for balanced gameplay"

maybe it was cursed lemons vid, but I guarantee you thats how they designed the maps. "Oh it looks pretty, great job! ( ͡° ͜ ʖ ͡°   )

 

But yea the maps are garbage, so much wasted space and bad designs imo. Bungie why did you abandon us
