I know thats a question that I am going to get flamed for lol.
But seriously. I edit all the time. Usually not Halo videos, and even if it is Halo I put about 10% effort into it. But I always use Vegas, though I have AAE as well. I am wanting to start seriously edting some Halo videos and I just wanted to ask around what you guys use AAE for exactly? I have used it for CC, Twixtor, and some minor effects. But I still end up using Vegas for like 95% of the edit. I sync, crop, do transitions, mask, and pretty much everything in Vegas. I know there are so many thing you can use After Effects for. But I need to know what exactly you guys use it for, so I can try to better understand it a little. I know some people on here use it for everything. Thank! (: |

Yea i tend to even mask in Vegas. I find it really easy. I'm sure i could do a lot more in AAE. I just really never had the want to figure everything out.
Thats kind of why I am asking everyone. To see if I should seriously start using AAE as well. |

I used to use Vegas for everything, but now I only use it for transitions and clipping. The fact of the matter is my videos tend to be more unique and have higher quality when I use AAE.
Anyways, I use AAE for masking, CC, blurs, really any effect, some transitions, twixtor, tracking whether it be mocha or foundry, title sequences alongside c4d, trapcode, Boris, revision, frishluft. Etc Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk |

ae only have not used vegas in forever, tho i do remember vegas being easier just for fast syncing and splitting...
but I wouldnt bother with it if you wanna go into any sort of detail. sounds weird but I half think I use only ae out of laziness of switching programs but that seems contradictory :P |

Thanks for the Feedback guys.
@Josh- Lol thats the main reason I am not wanting to have to use AAE and Vegas. Im so use to Vegas, but too lazy to use both. But I know I probably should use AAE for any type of detailed editing and effects. I don't see how you can totally use AAE, for me its harder to sync and clip clips. |

If you really wanted to use aae just for effects like me, premier pro would help. I mean the integration between aae and APP is very smooth and trouble free. I'm just so used to Vegas that I might not switch over.
