Hey everyone, first off your going to want to use Nv1ncible's Tutorial on how to get your clips/files to your capturer. If you followed Nv1ncible's tutorial you probably noticed that once your capturer got the files they were unable to access them. This is because the xbox signs them with a Device ID that is unique to the original owner's USB drive to prevent them from opening up with another device. Heres a quick tutorial on how to get around this:
Things you will need: -A USB Flash Drive big enough to hold the person your capturing for's Xbox360 Folder. - USB Xtaf GUI Version 32beta3 Video Tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab0I14nIXiE Written Tutorial: Step 1: BACKUP your Files! Make a backup copy of your Xbox 360 Folder on your computer just incase you mess up and need to start over. Step 2: Configure your flash drive to run on your xbox 360 (Make sure you configure your USB drive with enough space to hold the original owners Xbox 360 folder). Of course backup any files on the drive before you configure it because they will be deleted. Step 3: Place the newly configured flash drive in your computer and delete the newly created Xbox 360 folder off your USB flash drive you just configured. Then copy the Xbox 360 folder with the clips and profiles on it to the USB flash drive. Step 4: Open up USB Xtaf GUI Version 32beta3 and click File > Open Drive (Xtaf should automatically detect and open the flash drive). There should be two folders in the left side of the explorer, Cache Partition and Data Partition. Expand the Data Partition folder and then you should see a subfolder called Content folder. Right click the Content folder and extract it to your desktop (This may take awhile depending on how many profiles/clips you are transfering). Step 5: Place the USB flash drive back into your xbox 360 and reconfigure your flash drive to run on your xbox 360 (Make sure you configure your USB drive with enough space to hold the original owners Xbox 360 folder). Step 6: Place the newly configured flash drive in your computer and open up Xtaf. Click File > Open Drive (Xtaf should automatically detect and open the flash drive). There should be two folders in the left side of the explorer, Cache Partition and Data Partition. Click and highlight the Data Partition folder in Xtaf and drag the Content folder, you copied to your desktop earlier, to the right side of Xtaf under File. This may take awhile depending on how many clips/profiles your transfering (Xtaf will most likely stop responding but it will still be working just wait for the files to finish injecting). Step 7: Remove the USB from your computer and plug it in your xbox. You should be now be able to access the profiles and clips in Halo 3 Theatre. *I have only tested this OFFLINE, although I don't believe Microsoft would be able to detect and ban you for this type of USB manipulation but, its always good to play it safe. *If anything is unclear in the video or written tutorial let me know ill see if I can help. On another note, I found a way to transfer clips to different accounts on the same xbox without fileshare and if people are interested in this too I'll create another tutorial. To Mods: I am aware this is not technically a Halo 3 Video but, it would be much more use to people if it were in the Halo 3 Video Section. Thanks to Nv1ncible for creating the original transfer tutorial and bjorn_248 for tipping me off about Xtaf. Enjoy, lXxZer0xXl |
