Absolutely. It's not all because of Reach, it's just the way these videos are evolving as well. Though I'm not sure we can change this entirely (Think of how many people intentionally go for clips...), but it will be interesting to see how Halo 4 videos will progress.

People shouldn't even try to do that shit, I really don't know many people, myself included, that enjoy just going for clips. I used to be like that, but of all the clips I've gotten, 98% of them have come from me just playing / enjoying the game, and not trying to be a montage kid. I've gotten more Halo clips when I play baked or drunk in the last 2 months (Enjoying the game and such) then a whole year of try harding, lmao.

Halo use to be huge with machinima, but now, it's all about the views. Another thing is, halo just doesn't have as much content coming out as much as the other games do.

I don't see what the problem is. I could've been partnered with Machinima 2 years ago already but instead I chose to get partnered like 3 months ago. I hasn't changed the way in which I work, play, upload, edit etc. etc. Instead, I've even been doing alot less than I used to, lol.

I have recognized the same thing. When I am trying for clips, I dont have as much fun (I am not that good any way so it doesnt matter XD). I always will think about stuff when I choke, but I do much better when I am playing the game just for fun. Dont get me wrong I enjoy watching a good mlg montage (MWM's montage), but I think there should be just as many "fun" montages if not more than serious montages.

Unwind is a montage series no one can dislike. The second montage will come soon.

For the individual that's partnered it's wonderful, but someone who is not will it only get harder for him to get publicity, since Machinima is a network with the largest viewer numbers many, many times higher than anyone else.
People who browse in Machinima won't have to search other places for content because they have it there. But a lot of talent is lost between, because those that are partnered aren't getting in just by the quality of a product, but mainly because of their numbers. Since that's what keeps Machinima up.
Someone good at promoting will get more attention, but his content might not be the best, when organisations like Machinima pick those up will the gap between the unnoticed talent and partnered become nothing but wider.

There was a guy that made Minecraft survival videos, builds and commentaries on yourube, Yasrawi. He had about 50 subscribers and I would always watch his latest releases because of the hilarious attitude, brought up topics and great speaking skills. He stopped because the dedicated time didn't pay off.

This is one comment that just pisses the crap out me.

I see people on EVERY video of Gear's saying to link people's channel. Then, when he finally does, a minuscule amount of people subscribe compared to the amount of people that gave the comment thumbs up.

I know a few people including me who this happened to. For example, I think Fate has 10k views at the moment and probably 700 hundred likes. There were multiple comments saying to link my channel and things like that and then when he does a few days later, guess how many subs I got? 2. What the hell is the point of 50 people complaining about something if only 2 of them are actually gonna bother to follow through.

However, other big channels should try helping too. Having people like Kampy and Dutchy spread channels around will help much more, especially since they have a lot of subs and everyone loves them. Kampy simply liked the video below, nothing else, and in a few hours it had 100+ likes and I got over 40 subs.



People like Kampy, Dutchy, Ninja, Best Man and other youtube personalities would help much more than Gear imo.

EDIT: Also, the main reason for the decline is obviously Reach Halo always explodes with a new release so hopefully during Winter the community will be bigger.

Holbolm's tage is easily one of the greatest Reach montages to be released. I honestly loved every second of it.

I agree with Fate, FBWalshy doesn't have much to do with the community. Personalities like Dutchy and Bravo do. People actually like who they are and will subscribe and help out other channels if they ask them to. On the other hand, people don't really know who FBWalshyFTW is and so they don't feel inclined to help out channels in the description.
