I dont think it would, in fact Id think it would fracture it more.
While the credit system isnt perfect, (face it, just because a player is a general (just an example) it could simply be they just play alot and narent really that great. In fact Im a Col Gr2 and really Im not very good.) I think it still keeps the population in one bigger bowl thats actually more even than I thought it would have been 18 months ago had I been asked. Because it seems to be when I played my beloved H3 multiplayer, people with the numberical rank system often would have confrontations with 'Non 50s' in posts anyone from any Halo3 forum can recall. If got ugly, OFTEN. Now I know the Arena hasnt become the place Bungie wanted it to be, the place where former '50's' could compete competitively, and that leaves a void for players who put competitive play first, but again, I think numberical ranking system fractures the community more as a whole. |

I would say yes by far. I know a couple of my friends who say they would play or have played more had there been a ranking system. It's about showing people you are good and getting a 50 does that. Anyone can be an Inheritor, but not everyone can be a 50.

I can't vote yet but I think it would help. I dont like the "real military" rankings. 1-50 was cool.
They should have it 1-50 then if you complete game on legendary 5 times while getting 6 killtrocitys in MM. You get all the other cool lvls like Coments and Halo Rings. |

without a doubt it would at least double the average population online, gives people motivation to play.
