SUPER fresh video

EDIT: That is the BEST quality I've ever seen for a high quality video that hasn't been rendered in ANYTHING, and a very strange 1092x676 resolution

You're rendering uncompressed .avi I take it? If so click on "Lossless" in the Rendering Que Tab and then check the Audio Output box.

With particular or form(trapcode), if you make something, it is viewable in 3d space once you add a 3d camera. But when you turn that particular layer into a 3d layer, it instantly becomes flat. Is there any way to turn the layer 3d while preserving the 3d in particular?
Robosteeze will be able to answer this better but Form and Particular are automatically supposed to work with camera's without having to make the layer 3d. The reason it will become flat is probably because after effects takes that whole layer and just makes it 2d moving in 3d space. It's best to just leave the form and particular layers unchecked from 3d unless you specifically want this.

Just an add to this answer. It's correct. Effects like Particle World are instant 3D as well. In your effect controls tab, you should see a 3D cube next to the FX button. If it's there, it's automatically 3D and you shouldn't make the layer 3D, because the effect is 3D already.

If you have, for example, Particular on, keep THAT layer 2D and move with your camera. You'll see that it will already act like 3D.

That didn't help me whatsoever, I already know what stuff, you didn't answer my question. I have other layers out there in 3d space, so I need the trapcode layer to become 3d while somehow keeping it's 3dness.

Do you really need that? Because I don't think that's possible.

Just move the particles back in 3d space then within the plugin.

Or, link the position of the emitter to a null and animate the null.

Ooh, good idea too. I'll try both.

Edit: Null object doesnt work, the particular layer stays where it is in z axis, but moving them plugin-wise works.

To have a Null Object drive your particle emitter you need 2 epressions.

Particle Emitter XY:
Code:
myNull = *Pickwhip your null object layer here*    ;
[ myNull.position[0] , myNull.position[1] ]
Particle Emitter Z:
Code:
myNull = *Pickwhip your null object layer here*    ;
myNull.position[2]
Make sure your Null Object layer is 3D.
