To all montage makers :: Be Different :: Stand Out - Page 9

I couldn't agree more, a lot of videos that have been release have been kinda "meh". But i think what Oxfire said is a good guideline to follow if someone is attempting to create their own montage.

I also think you should add KSP89's 1st montage: "Kids say the darndest things"
It was one of the first montages that i found to be truly entertaining and enjoyable.

I completely agree with you, KSP89's montage should be on the first page. There were no bxrs, doubleshots, bxzs, super high multikills, ect. but the simplicity of the gameplay and the way you could tell that he was having fun really made it enjoyable. Thanks for posting this.

Some nice thoughts. I'd add that people shouldn't be afraid to use effects if they want to, as long as they consider them properly. You can't learn how to use them correctly if you don't use them at all. You're totally right, though, it's much better to tend towards simplicity, especially in the beginning stages of one's...editing education.

I like the videos you chose. I watched KBlocker's Be Yourself one again, and noticed that he kills me in it...I remember he was definitely being himself and having fun in that game since he had about 50 kills more than anyone else.

I've got two cents for you upcoming montage makers.

EDIT YOUR OWN VIDEO. I really respect those who do this, just as the old H2 montages were. It'll also allow you to make the video how you see it should be done, not how your editor sees it.

Don't conform.

Don't take it too seriously.

Don't let anyone tell you how to make a video, but be open to suggestions like this thread, and do what YOU want to do.
