i was looking over TFOR yesterday..and it was talking about the OMACs and stuff of that nature and i wondered how many MACs surrounded earth?
so i went to the first level and heard 300..then i kept playing cuz i felt like it..and the estimate of ships invading earth was 15..and 2 died from either orbital mines surroinding earth..or earths destroyers...

so..saying that 150 are on the other side of earth and cant help...that leaves..150 that can..say 3/4 are boarded and destrotyed...(even thoships covi entered the kill zone..waayy before alot of station were destroyed)
that leaves 38 MAC station...a MAC can reload in thirty seconds..so say 1/3 shoot at once..so that every 10 seconds there is a salvo...every capital..ship that attacked earth should of been destroyed in 20 seconds...

sure..alot of boarding craft may make it to earth...but its only 1 city..and can be contained..but in the game...theirsa capital ship just hanging over the city...it dosent make..sence...and im not even taking into acount the 100s of destroyers that outnumber the ships..1/50...it dosent make sence

also..a little thing i saw....the medal...in the medal ceremonie...johnson..received....the medal..of honor...and...a couple..more...(i had the list from left to right but i lost it...) and miranda keys recieved a medal given to her father which..i thought was also the medal of honor...my question is...what metal does MC get? theres not even a medal thats that good...its like medal of honor times infinity

MACs got owned. if ur going to name a gun after a bad computer, you should assume that they all malfunctioned or got blown up.

in the trailor there was a bunch of covenant ships in that crater thingy, so yea.

the macs didnt get owned they usually own alot before they finaly fall..in all the books..not one mac has been fired upon by a covie ship..they have been infiltrated..but never shot at....because they have longer range..and if my calculation are right..they can destroy 75 covie ships every 10 seconds....if they werent boarded....and lots of ships were in the killzone before the mac stations were even touched or blown up..so they still could fight..and in the end of halo 2..the mac station that u helped defend is still in use...

i guess they didnt want to destroy a ship right over a city and kill their marines and destroy the whole city...but that still dosent explain how it made it through the defenses with out being touched...or any of the other capital ships as well..they should of been fried..its 700 vs 15...redused to 13 before they reach earh..and theyll still invade...that pathetic.

and why couldent the lonsword interceptors shoot at the boarding craft.. they dont have weapons...they didnt look like they had plasma cannons... and they only can manuever straight to the ship and really couldnt do anything fancy so they shouldve been all destroyed..or atleast some...only about 20 landed on the station thats an easy number to destroy when you have a bunch of longsword interceptors per station..judging that there faster and can probably intercept 5 before they reach the staion....(20 boarding craft is an estimate..in the level itself i only saw 5 so i may be way over by saying 20...which further proves my point) i also didnt see and seraph fighters

You're an idiot. The UNSC MAC guns are the only type of weapons that can even scratch the surface of a covenant ship. This is why they equiped most of thier "destroyers" with MAC guns. A good shot of a MAC gun can completly devestate a capital covenant ship in pieces, and it is one of the only effective weapons against the covenant's space ship enregy shielding.


Yeah, we had 300 I think boarding Earth. Good info on the firing seconds and stuff, and if I remember correctly, I think you are right about the seconds and stuff. I doubt that many would be blown up with bombs like the Athens or Multa, but yeah. Maybe in the first 1/3 of the game, there are a ton of earth missions or something. I just hope the single player is very long, twice the size of halo 2's hopefully. lol

EDIT: elderly jam, about how regret's ship got past them all. Didn't they say regret's ship was one of the fastest ships in the fleet? I thought I heard that somewhere. Or, maybe by the way it just dashed blindly oveer Cairo. I dk though. lol

hes not as fast as a mac round...unless hes in slipspace...

u can kinda destroy a capital ship if you shoot all your archer missle pods..i think keys did that once..but its kinda of stupid and macs are better any way

Yeah, I think Keyes did when he commanded "the iroquois" in TFOR, when he made it to the Stigma Octanus IV system. He single handly beat like 10 or 11 ships w/o any help! lol

because its one of many little details overlooked by bungie...like on keyes uniform..it has a o -3 insignia which is the wrong insignia for a commander of a ship....unless they changed it when they started making space craft...

and zealot..isnt that the one were keyes did the little loop and destroyed 3 ships at once...that was rape

The firing seconds r wrong it only takes 5 seconds for a super mac gun to charge and fire again
