only noobs dont use the AR when its available

although i'd rather only have a BR than an AR

BR, because you can't long distance AR like Flood in campaign.

i am a battle rifle fan, because it is a better weapon, although it loses 1v1 close range to the AR, with good enough team mates to work with they can help you shoot the other team from long distances, it also allows for easy finishes, and to keep the sniper from being able to scope

If anyone knows anything about H3, you would know that both have their strengths and their weaknesses. AR is good for a closer range, BR is good for mid and semi-long range. If you rush a guy with an AR and you have a BR. You will lose. If you try to kill a guy with an AR from mid range you will lose. The main weapons I tried to keep with me are the BR, AR or Shotgun, and some type of special weapon.

Best combo is BR and AR imo.

If you're new, or haven't played Halo 3 in a while, use the Assault rifle. It will kill the opponent faster than a BR as long as they are not pointing it at your head, in which case you will die first. But if you're new, use the assault rifle. It's weaker than the BR, but get some good aim first.
