Are you always this ignorant? Do you really think you're going to stay at that point when Google finds out that all your thread links don't exist anymore on The Halo Forum domain?

You used past tense, but this is nothing that isn't trivially fixed by 301s and subdirectories that can be generated by a throwaway script + regex.

 

I hope you guys can do something. It's not like I'm begging for this place to die. I spent a nice chunk of my childhood here that I really enjoyed. I just don't think this direction was the right direction, but time will tell & all that. Ask for feedback & get feedback, I suppose is how that works.

Yfw almost none of our traffic comes from organic search.

Edit: none of our non-bot traffic.

Responding is literally not worth my breath @Puls3. Thank you for at least making an honest attempt at a case for yourself, but I'm just going to leave it at the fact that Xenforo is a FAR INFERIOR platform. A better forum software by default? Yes, probably. A good content management system? No. 

You're clearly ignorant about Drupal, a system I've been using for well over 6 years now. Did you know that Weather.com is run on it? What about Whitehouse.gov? I don't think you have a clue how many extremely high profile companies, government agencies, and public institutions run on Drupal, and there's a reason for it.

Well, I'm not sure if the demographic market for Whitehouse.gov & Weather.com is the same as something like a video game niche, but I get what you're saying. Best of luck brother.

I will be the very first to admit that Drupal has never had a great forum solution (module) but that has and is changing thanks to the extensive work put in by Alli Price on the Harmony modules, which have only recently reached a stable release. There are tons of additional features on their way, and the forums will continue to improve over the next year.

With that said, the reason I chose Drupal is because I have a bigger vision for THF (despite the fact that the word forum is in the name of the site), and Drupal is what is going to make those things possible without requiring me to devote hundreds of hours writing custom php functionality.

Can you maybe make the latest post link a little bigger on mobile? Don't have to make the icon any bigger as well, but it's really hard to click on my phone with my fat fingers, at least.

Yeah definitely, that was one of the things I had on my list of to do's. I'm actually going to be adding a "Last Page" link, probably appended to the title or next to the author so people have another route for getting to the most current discussion.

Also, some flow issues in new thread button on mobile. Hope this large screenshot doesn't also break all the things. Edit: feel free to delete any of these that you already know about. Or leave them so people know you know. Whatevs. Follow your heart!

Happens with "&" and apostrophes and the like when showing thread title within a quote.

Yeah, someone brought it up. The quote functionality was a last minute addition, so I'm not surprised there are some bugs. I'll be looking into it though, thank you!

How come I can't automatically go to the last page when I click a thread? Like, it doesn't show in the forum page where it says how many pages a thread has. Why do I always have to enter a thread on the first page, scroll to the bottom and THEN click "last page" before I get to the recent posts? Am I doing something wrong? I don't see where I can go straight to the recent posts.

Also can you remove my avatar? I don't want one and I didn't like the weird default one, so I went into MS Paint, made a single pixel in the top left corner and scaled the pic so it was just the one pixel and I made it the same color as the page. But when I uploaded it, I just have the big grey box. I'd like no grey box if possible.

Also thanks for everything nv1. You've put in crazy work man. Even though I would've preferred to stay on the old site, I understand it's just my personal preference. I'm sure I'll grow to like the new site and features.

Just fyi errbody, the little circle with the arrow next to the name of the person who last posted brings u to last post and thus last page.

You don't, the green circle with the arrow next to the last poster brings you directly to the last post in the thread. This is how it worked on the old site too btw. As I've already mentioned earlier though, I plan to make it easier to get to the last page by adding a link, probably appended to the title or near the thread author.

Okay cool. And on the old site I just clicked the actual link that said "last page" so I was looking for that, I don't care what the method is as long as I can get there, so I'm fine with clicking the arrow or whatever.

Pressing enter in the mobile text editor shows the spacing but when u past its one long paragraph... as the top functionalities dont stay in screen perhaps a *back to top* button at the bottom? So in can go to videos Without scrolling. .. sometimes it doesnt take u to ur post once u click save, but top of the page, mostly when editing a post... these dots are cuz no enters on mobile

On mobile there are instances where i cant click on a last poster or last post icon on a specific thread, while everything else works fine incl last poster and post icons of other threads. From forum homepage to when i go to the specific subforum its a no go. Example the smash bros thread where right now gamechallenged has the last post. ive come across it multiple times now

looks like when you post a link to an article on the forum it doesnt direct link to it but to the subtopic, while just copy pasting the link in the url does direct link

The "go to last" arrow doesn't work for me on the thread for Hyena's final. Edit: Works on mobile though.

Its going to be looked into, and that has been asked several times already.

hm, that unpublished posts stuff is weird. I figured that was like soft deleted where only mods could see.

is everyone seeing those?

The dark theme has white text for spoiler boxes which makes it hard to read.

Should be an option in your user cp to delete your avatar, I don't know if you tried that. Did you try putting in a new one?

there is a last post button, is it not showing?

We're working on it, aware its still having issues out of forum homepage

the arrow in a circle icon after the username in the Last Post collumn does work universally tho, altho people found it too small.

You should see a little arrow next to the last person that posted in the thread which you can click on to go to the last page.
