OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD

Must. Keep. It. Alive.

Subbing. Got a full roll I need to develop, so I'll post some once I've done that.
What film? Kodak?
Yeah, recently I've been shooting Kodak Ektar 100 because I love the look of it and the colors it's able to produce. This time around I actually shot B&W for the first time, so I went with Kodak TMAX 400 at the recommendation of a friend. I'm pretty excited to see how it turns out.

I love the rain.

I can't wait until cell phone cameras are as advanced as DSLR.

you'll be waiting a hot minute

edit:

Gotta have a last cig before dying of hypothermia, eh? Cool shot, as usual.

Not a photo but I did a quick one hour shooting & editing thing for a film class that just started. http://leroivas.tumblr.com/post/110201464043/aamupala-short-shooting-editing-test-for-film

My course went awesome, learned a lot of stuff. I knew there was a decent amount to wrap your head around when it comes to photography, I mean its art, but holy shit... I got a long way to go lol.

Definitely going to be taking more courses through them once I feel Im ready
Yeah man just go for the stuff you like doing and don't get too technical :)

dem boring ass winter trees

Britt you're incredibly talented, digging it

Really dig the first cat one. Also i think the second one could be more interesting if the 'mirror' would not be in the center, but at around 1/4 (or 3/4, same thing). I feel like it would make it way more interesting

pic i took with my phone today while running. wish i had my camera with me though :/

I know Im not the most creative, but Im trying to work on that. Tips are welcome lol

At what point did any of you that add a water mark to your photos decide that it was the right time or situation?

I want to start adding them to picture that I take for other people not my personal collection. But since Im not doing anything more than that for them I dont know if thats okay, feels kinda off.

Opinions?

Also went to the mountains and car show this weekend.

I dig that first photo of the silhouette reflection on the lake. Very nice.

This is just my opinion, but I think watermarks are incredibly cheesy and almost always unnecessary.

I think you can gain just as much, if not more, in the way of self promotion just by reminding the people you shoot for to recommend friends your way if they need a photographer. And you don't have to detract from the quality of your photos by doing it that way. (Not to mention your clients may not want your name on all their photos. Especially if you shot a sentimental event, such as a wedding.)

I also think you'll find that the higher quality the photography, the less likely it is to have watermarks.

Did one of these. Didnt turn out like I wanted cause the clouds rolled in and the sun went behind within the 30 seconds I ran inside to grab my camera... but it was an attempt. Also my first "edit" cause I never edit anything cause I dont know how :P

Here are some shots from my RZ67:

It's a fun camera. Bit heavy for running around though, and not having a light meter can sometimes be challenging.

Can't seem to embed, at least not from Flickr. I try it infrequently enough that i always have the problem of trying to figure it out.

some really cool shots. Still really like the snowy girl one (Allie 1/2)

Thanks tarzan, that one seems to be the favorite when I show people my photos. I was actually just trying to post the one of the skateboarder, but I appreciate you looking through and commenting.

Howdy m8s,

peruse through my personal site if you'd like: http://www.martinpacyna.com

How can I clean dust from the inside of a lens? Was at a yard sale and this guy was selling a Canon AT1, 2 lenses, macro adapter and a flash for $25. The body is mint and even the light meter still works. But there is some dust under the glass at the end of the lenses, more noticeably on the 200mm. Can I do anything or should I just spend $100 on new lenses?

Went into downtown rva today and did some street photog. I think I got some some really good shots. Should have them developed here soon. Unfortunately color film was all I had. Ordered some Ilford HP5 400 last night. These rolls of color should be good for the mean time.

MY MAN how did I not see this
Dropped my test roll of film off at an actual photo lab. Should have it back Monday or Tuesday. Really hoping it comes out good.

Out of 24 exposures, these 2 were the best. To be expected, I usually only figure 1 or 2 to be good enough from a full roll.

slighty  edited to bring out some warmth. Original was high on the blues

i think i dig the original one better than the slightly edited one tbh. first shot is gorgeous as well
Appreciate it. I'm back and forth on the second one myself now. I like the warmth but it takes away the rawness of the shot.
yeah, to me the unedited one feels more pure or something, like im really there. Can't really put a finger on why, but it just feels right to me
