I just flat out failed a final. This class is ridiculous. Financial Econometrics. It is a 500 level class, meaning its first year masters student / undergrad class and there are 3 Econ PhDs, a guy going for his Finance PhD (already has a PhD in physics) two girls getting their masters in prob and stats and they all struggled. I flat out failed. I know I got 10/50 at least. 15/50 at most. .......fuck
where'd those guys from the HW / Math thread go? bacon zyphex and one other guy whose name I can't remember. I wanna see what they think of this. Bacon is probably the only person who has studied stochastic calculus because he is physics.

I was awkaened by my hysterical g/f who freaked out b/c there were two black snakes hanging out on our front porch. After researching what they were I found out that they are black indigo snakes, harmless and apparently endangered or threatened.
But that didn't help her freaking-out. Because they are still snakes. Heh.
i 100% understand her concern. White snakes would have been invited in for tea.

Haven't really touched stochastic calculus. Ito's stochastic integral was mentioned in my last time series class, but I'm not going to dig deep into it unless I really need to. Props for trying with that class; hopefully your professor has mercy on you.
Yeah apparently PhDs aren't even allowed to take 500 level classes so hopefully they wont ruin the curve. If the class is curved to the masters students and undergrads I could pull out an A. Oh well. Interesting that Ito's Integral was in a time series class. I would have guessed it only has pretty specific applications, aka mathematical financial modeling.
Why are you in that class?
I needed to take 3 econ classes for my major, so I took Economics of Money and Banking (pretty easy), Game Theory (fuck that shit), and Econometrics (masters class and by far my favorite class I have ever taken). I needed a chinese class for my minor and I had three credits to burn so I decided that it was a good idea to take another masters econ class instead of cooking or three 1 credit gym classes.
Could have a 4.0 this semester, but Financial econometrics could really fuck that up
Plus it turns out some degree of stochastic calculus is required to pass an actuarial exam so it will come in pretty useful when ever I get around to that specific actuarial exam

I had a really weird time at work last night. For some odd reason i started noticing my vision went tunnel vision like I was high, but I haven't smoked in months. I also had a bit of trouble concentrating and my peripheral vision was basically not there. I wasn't sure what was wrong so I just tried getting some sugar in my system along with drinking some water. It lasted for about an hour and a half. Anyone experience this before? Like da fuck?
