there's a glitch that gives you auto headshots when you don't actually hit them so i wouldn't do it.

That can really only be exploited in the revenant and even still, high multikills sniping in the sideseat are still impressive. Mongoose and warthog passengers have larger headshot hitboxes too but it doesn't make a massive difference.
